Shelby: Highs in 90s with spotty rain

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Meteorological summer begins today, and our weather is exactly what you would expect. Highs will be around 90 with spotty storms for the next couple of days.

A change is coming for the end of the week. An area of low pressure over Texas will slowly move our way and increase our chance for storms. Rain chances increase on Friday and Saturday looks quite stormy. The rain chances will likely stay high into Sunday.

Next week will see a drier trend with a possible heat wave developing by the end of next week.

Remember to tune in tonight for a 1 hour special "Weathering the Storm 2016" hosted by Chief Meteorologist David Bernard.
