NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The Benson family feud heads back to federal court Thursday. A motion hearing gets underway at 1:30 p.m.
Last week, attorneys for Tom Benson asked a judge to throw out a succession deal, which proposes removing his estranged heirs from direct ownership of the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans.
The deal proposes giving promissory notes to daughter Renee Benson and grandchildren Rita and Ryan LeBlanc.
The heirs' attorneys argue those notes are unsecured. They also argue the deal needs NFL approval.
Tom Benson's attorney says approval cannot come until after the deal is accepted by the court.
