RACELAND, LA (WVUE) -

Lafourche Parish deputies search for a man who they said brought a knife into a Raceland hospital and got into a scuffle with a deputy.

It happened Monday afternoon at Ochsner St. Anne Hospital in Raceland. Deputies said they were called to the hospital about an earlier disturbance. When they arrived, deputies said they found Daniel Boudreaux, 29, of Lockport. Deputies asked him if he had any weapons and they said Boudreaux admitted that he had a knife in his pocket.

Boudreaux and a deputy both reached for the knife, and the deputy disarmed him. Boudreaux then immediately took off running, eventually jumping into Bayou Lafourche.

Deputies are currently searching the bayou and nearby fields for Boudreaux.

Anyone with any knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to contact the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 532-2255.
