New Orleans Pelicans hire Danny Ferry as special advisor

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Pelicans have added a big basketball name to the front office.

Danny Ferry will join the franchise as a Special Advisor.

Ferry has 25 years of NBA experience as both a player and front office executive under his belt.

He served as the President of Basketball Operations and General Manager for the Atlanta Hawks from 2012-15.

Ferry was a member of the San Antonio Spurs front office from 2010-12.

From 2005-10, Ferry served as the General Manager of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavaliers posted a 272-138 (.663) record while Ferry was there.
