NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

A local plastic surgeon indicted in a high-profile rape case countered the accusations in a new court filling.

Attorney's for Dr. Ali Sadeghi say prosecutors grossly mischaracterized photographs taken from Sadeghi's phone. According to the filing, the images presented as child pornography by the prosecution are entirely innocent snapshots of his children, taken when they were infants and toddlers. The filling says the other photos used as evidence are clinical pictures of patients taken with their consent.

According to Sadeghi's attorneys, the case is without merit and an attempt to tarnish his reputation.

A grand jury indicted Sadeghi in May for one charge of Second Degree Rape and one charge of Video Voyeurism. The indictment accuses Sadeghi of raping a woman and secretly recording her. The offenses allegedly occurred between Jan. 18, 2011, and Oct. 17, 2014.

A judge also put out a protective order barring Sadeghi from contacting the alleged victim or her children.

The trial is set for August of this year. The full filing from Sadeghi's attorneys can be read below.
