JPSO: 19-year-old caught in crossfire, killed outside party bus

HARVEY, LA (WVUE) -

A 19-year-old woman was shot and killed after two men opened fire on each other outside a party bus Saturday morning.

Clamisha Houston, 19, was shot and killed in the parking lot of the Lowe's on Manhattan Boulevard on June 11.

According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, an argument between two men on the party bus escalated to violence and Houston was caught in the middle.

The shooting occurred around 1:10 a.m. Police say one of the unidentified shooters went to his car after getting off the party bus and retrieved a gun. He then opened fire on another unidentified man, who returned fire. Houston and another unidentified victim were caught in the crossfire.

When officers arrived on the scene they found Houston lying unresponsive in the parking lot. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The second victim, identified only as a male, was also struck according to JPSO. He survived the shooting, but his condition is unknown.

Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 504-822-1111.
