JPSO: Suspect named in fatal shooting of 19-year-old in Harvey

JEFFERSON PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Investigators with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Department have named a suspect in the fatal shooting of a teen in Harvey.

The JPSO issued an arrest warrant for 22-year-old Furnell "Nonnie" Celestine of Waggaman, who is wanted in connection with the Saturday morning shooting that claimed the life of 19-year-old Clamisha Houston of Harvey.

The shooting occurred around 1:10 a.m. in the 1300 block of Manhattan Boulevard.

According to police, Houston was shot while she and a group of teens exited a party bus. Witnesses say that an argument took place between two groups of men on the bus.

After getting off the bus, police say Celestine went to a nearby car, grabbed a gun and began firing in the direction of the other riders. According to JPSO, those actions prompted an exchange of gunfire that killed Clamisha Houston.

Celestine is now wanted for Second-degree murder.

If you have any additional information that could help police with this case, you are asked to call JPSO detective Gabriel Faucetta at 504-364-5493 or JPSO Homicide Division at 504-364-5393.
