NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Passing storms across the area this afternoon dropped some heavy down pours. As the night moves on most rain is ending. Even with the rain we continued to see very warm temperatures with highs still reaching 90 in some spots.
A weak disturbance is pushing across the northern Gulf of Mexico helping to increase coverage of daytime heating storms. That energy will mean even more rain coverage for Sunday. Expect around 60% coverage with some heavy down pours and lightning. That increase in moisture and coverage will stick around through Monday and Tuesday.
Wednesday will bring some change as high pressure strengthens across the region lowering rain chances for Thursday and Friday. Look for temperatures to rise once again into the lower to mid 90's in spots by the end of next week. Moisture returns for the weekend and we could see another active weekend in the rain department.
No problems in the tropics.
