NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police are searching for two individuals wanted in connection with a French Quarter armed robbery. The incident occurred Saturday June 4, 2016 around 5:12 a.m. in the 900 block of Governor Nicholls Street.
Police say that the pair walked up to the victim's vehicle while he was asleep in the driver's side seat. One of the individuals pulled out a handgun and put it up against the victim's head, demanding his property. While handing over his cell phone and wallet to the first suspect, the second leaned in through the passenger side window and rummaged through the center console of the vehicle. The second suspect then grabbed the keys to the vehicle and threw them to the first, who then tossed them in the back seat of the car. Police say that both then ran north on Governor Nicholls.
The first suspect is described as a black man who was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. He is around 6-foot-2 with a medium build. The second suspect is described as wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and a black and silver baseball cap. He is around 5-foot-8 with a medium build.
According to police, surveillance footage captured the two suspects getting into a white four-door sedan which was parked at Dauphine and Ursuline Streets.
