New Orleans man arrested for shooting neighbor during an argument

New Orleans police have arrested a man wanted in connection with a Monday shooting.

According the NOPD reports, Howard Herbert, 66, was arrested for an incident the occurred Monday, June 13 on Bender Drive.

At approximately 12:40 p.m., Herbert became involved in a verbal altercation with his neighbor in the 3600 block of Bender. During the shouting match, Herbert pulled a gun and shot at his neighbor, striking him in the abdomen.

Police arrived and found the victim conscious but unresponsive. EMS took the victim to University Medical Center.

Herbert was arrested at the scene and the gun used in the shooting was found.

Herbert was booked with aggravated battery.
