JPSO: Arrest made in fatal party bus shooting

JEFFERSON PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Detectives arrested a man wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a teen who just got off of a party bus in Harvey. The incident occurred Saturday, just after 1 a.m. in a parking lot located in the 1300 block of Manhattan Boulevard.

According to police, 18-year-old Davin Labranch of Waggaman was arrested Monday after being released from the hospital. Police say that Labranch was shot in the face during the incident, which resulted in shooting death of 19-year-old Clamisha Houston of Harvey.

According to police, the shooting incident stemmed from an argument between two groups of male teens, which started on the party bus. The argument escalated into gunfire after the groups got off the bus.

Investigators say that 22-year-old Furnell Celestine of Waggaman is wanted for second degree murder in the case.

Witnesses told investigators that both Labranch and Celestine fired into a crowd of people who just exited the bus. Detectives are working to identify the individuals in the other group of teens who returned gunfire.

The investigation into the incident continues.
