We only saw a few pop up storms Wednesday. Coverage was much lower than the past several days. Temperatures responded by reaching the low to mid 90's. Little if any rain is expected for Thursday and Friday. With lots of sunshine and hot west winds we could reach the upper 90's in spots. That would be close to setting record highs for parts of the area.
One more hot day is expected on Saturday before a front arrives in the afternoon breaking the heat wave. However, that could mean strong to severe storms on Saturday afternoon and evening.
Sunday will be a much better day with a cooler east breeze and only a few showers. Highs will back down into the 80's.
Next week looks mostly dry with highs around 90.
A weak area of low pressure may move across the Southwest Gulf of Mexico over the weekend. Right now it's unlikely to develop and poses no problems for us.
