NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The City of New Orleans announced Wednesday that the New Orleans Juvenile Justice Center at 1100 Milton St. in the St. Bernard Area neighborhood will reopen to the public on Thursday, June 16, 2016. The facility was closed Wednesday so that the City and Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans could repair a clogged sewer line.
The New Orleans Juvenile Justice Center serves as the home of Orleans Parish Juvenile Court and includes spaces for juvenile-related services from the Orleans Parish District Attorney and Public Defender's Office.
The Juvenile Justice Center campus also includes the New Orleans Youth Study Center, the detention facility for juveniles awaiting trial. The center's operations were not impacted during Wednesday's closure.
