Serena embraces her curves

It turns out, celebrities have insecurities just like us.

Tennis player Serena Williams admits she struggled with her body image for a long time.
In an upcoming documentary "Serena" she reveals she had a hard time being comfortable with her curves. The athlete says it took her a while but eventually she learned to love the body that carried her to win 21 grand slams.

"It doesn't matter what people say about you or how people feel, you have to love yourself. When you love yourself, it will manifest in everything that you do" said Serena.

The documentary follows Serena on her journey to the 2015 U.S. Open, in which she lost to Roberta Vinci.

Williams expresses the importance of sharing her story for the public to see the pressures a top player faces. The curvaceous star was just named the highest paid female athlete.

"Serena" airs June 22nd on the EPIX channel.
