Police: Woman uses oversized purse to shoplift

ST. CHARLES PARISH, LA (WVUE) - St. Charles Parish Sheriff's deputies are searching for a woman they say shoplifted from a Paradis convenience store.

It happened May 30 at the Champions Exxon fuel station.

Deputies say the woman placed several store items into her oversized purse and left the store without paying for them.  They say she got into the passenger seat of a dark SUV and drove away.

Authorities say employees called them after they noticed the missing inventory.

Anyone with information on the case or who may be able to identify the woman caught on surveillance camera is asked to call Det. Thomas Plaisance at 985-783-1135.
