Pedestrian killed in hit and run

CHAUVIN, LA (WVUE) -

Louisiana State Police are investigating a hit and run that left one man dead.

The crash happened shortly before 10:00 pm on Friday, June 17, on LA 56, south of the Chauvin Bridge.

According to police, 22 year-old William Boyne of Patterson, LA was walking on the shoulder when a vehicle traveling north crossed the fog line and hit Boyne. He was pronounced dead on the scene by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner’s Office. 

The vehicle is described as a late 1990’s to early 2000’s green Ford F-150. There may be damage to the front left of the vehicle near the headlight and possibly a metal “Headache” rack covering the rear window.

Anyone with information on this fatal hit and run is asked to call the Louisiana State Police Troop C at 985-857-3680.  Callers will remain anonymous.
