Franklinton man sentenced for structuring bank transactions

FRANKLINTON, LA (WVUE) -

A Franklinton man sentenced to 5 years probation after entering a guilty plea for structuring bank transactions.

Jerry Cox, 72 admitted guilt to making withdrawals from the Citizens Savings Bank and Resource Bank that would avoid government reporting.

Along with the probation sentence, Cox had to testify against Walter and Steven Reed and pay a fine.

The bank activity happened over a 12 month period. The Internal Revenue Service and the FBI led the investigation.
