LULING, LA (WVUE) -

Two accused drug dealers, already in jail for selling heroin, have now been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the March death of a man in Destrehan.

On March 2, 2016, St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to 128 Commercial Place in Destrehan to investigate the death of Richard Keller, Jr.

At that time, detectives arrested Jaime Hymel and Roderick Hackett and charged them with distribution of heroin and other narcotics related violations.

The additional charges came as a result of findings in a coroner’s report that showed Keller died from a heroin and fentanyl overdose and ethanol Intoxication.

Based on the results of the report, Hackett and Hymel who are currently in jail, were re-booked on the second degree murder charges.
