Thibodaux man arrested on drug and weapons charges

THIBODAUX, LA (WVUE) - A Thibodaux man faces drug and weapons charges after he was arrested in Raceland Monday afternoon, according to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's office.

Aukee Moore, 19, was stopped just before 4:30 Monday afternoon in Raceland. There was a juvenile in the car with him.

When deputies pulled Moore over, they smelled marijuana coming from the car. While he admitted smoking marijuana earlier, Moore told officers there was no marijuana in the car.

A K-9 drug dog was called to the scene and found drugs inside the vehicle.

Deputies discovered two plastic bags containing marijuana inside the vehicle, along with drug paraphernalia and a loaded handgun with an obliterated serial number.

Moore was placed under arrest and taken to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux. He was booked with possession of marijuana, illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of an unidentifiable firearm, illegal use of a controlled drug in the presence of a person under 17, possession of drug paraphernalia, and improper lane usage.

Moore's bond was set at $4,850.
