HARVEY, LA (WVUE) -

Funeral arrangements have been finalized for Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office Detective David Michel, Jr., who was killed in the line of duty on Wednesday.

A private visitation for family members only will be held Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Believer's Life Family Church at 501 Lapalco Blvd. in Gretna.

The general public is invited for viewing from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the church.

Michel will be buried at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, located at Ave. A and Fifth St. in Westwego.

The JPSO says Michel was shot when he made a pedestrian stop in Harvey. He later died at University Medical Center. Jerman Neveaux, 19, is accused of first degree murder, among other crimes. Sheriff Newell Normand said he confessed to the killing.
