New Orleans man assaulted, robbed while cutting grass

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A man assaulted and robbed while cutting his grass is on of three Thursday burglaries under investigation by the New Orleans Police Department.

The first incident occurred just after 7:30 a.m. in the 5600 block of Tullis Drive.

The victim, a 31-year-old woman, told police her door was kicked in and she was assaulted. She refused to be taken to an area hospital.

The second incident occurred at 1:24 p.m. in the 4900 block of Eastern Street.

The victim, a 14-year-old teenager, told police his door was kicked in by suspects, identified as black males.

He fled the scene through the front door.

The third incident occurred at 8:11 p.m. in the 1700 block of North Dorgenois Street.

The victim, a 65-year-old man, was cutting grass when suspect, described as a black male, grabbed him by the shirt and forced him inside his home for money.

The man refused and the suspect assaulted him with an unidentified weapon.

The suspect then went inside the house and came out with two bags of the victim's belongings.

He then fled the scene.
