NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Another hot and muggy day for Sunday with temperatures once again soaring into the middle 90s and feels like temperatures in the triple digits.
Take plenty of breaks and drink lots of fluids if you are spending time outside. This kind of heat can zap energy from you very quickly and heat exhaustion and heat stroke are very serious.
High pressure keeps the heat in place through this evening and into the day on Monday. It looks like we will see the high break down enough to get us a few afternoon showers Monday and help knock temperatures down a degree or two, but the real relief comes Tuesday with another backdoor cold front pushing in from the Northeast. That should increase rain chances everyday for the rest of the week and more clouds and rain will mean less hot temperatures. Not a real cool down, but at least a break from the upper 90s.
Tropics are quiet.
