NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Louisiana drivers have some of the worst interstate highways to navigate.
Researchers with TRIP evaluated roadways across the country. They determined Louisiana's interstate system ranks fourth for being in poor or mediocre condition. Hawaii ranks number one. California and Nevada round out the top four.
TRIP is a nonprofit organization that researches, evaluates and distributes economic and technical data on surface transportation issues.
The U.S. Department of Transportation estimates it will cost $189 billion to address the country's current backlog of needed interstate improvements.
