Baby bottle & food warmers recalled after fires

(WVUE) - The maker of Tommee Tippee baby products recalled about 255,000 electric bottle and food warmers because they can overheat and catch fire.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Mayborn USA Inc. received six reports of the warmers melting, smoking and catching fire, causing $16,000 in property damage.

Websites and mass merchandise stores around the county sold the recalled warmers between July 2011 and April 2016. The warmers were sold individually for about $21 and as part of a kit for about $120.

The recalled warmers were part of the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature line. Click here for a detailed look at the styles covered by the recall and a form to receive a replacement.
