KENNER, LA (WVUE) - A suspect in the stabbing of a shift manager at a Raising Cane's restaurant in Kenner was captured this morning in LaPlace.
The suspect was taken into custody by Louisiana State police and St. John the Baptist Sheriff's deputies.
In the incident, a 21-year-old woman, identified as Taylor Friloux, was stabbed in the head, neck and chest during an armed robbery that happened at around 1:30 a.m. in the 3300 block of Williams Boulevard.
According to Kenner police, two suspects, described as black males wearing grey hooded sweatshirts, robbed the restaurant.
A witness said the suspects got into the restaurant after approaching two employees taking out the trash at around 1:30 a.m.
Kenner Police Chief Mike Glaser the men were able to get money out of a safe then stabbed the manager on the way out of the building.
Friloux was transported to a nearby hospital where she remains in critical condition.
Witnesses saw the men getting into a small SUV where a getaway driver was waiting. Police believe at least three suspects were involved in the robbery.
A carpet cleaning crew happened to be in the restaurant at the time and witnessed the entire ordeal.
One witness said employees ran from the building screaming and describing what happened inside.
