NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

A gunman killed one man and injured another in the second double shooting in Houma on Wednesday morning.

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said deputies responded to the 3600 block of Thomas Dr. around 3:15 a.m., just minutes before another double shooting in the 400 block of East St.

When investigators arrived, they discovered one man shot in a parking lot. The victim, identified as John Darjean, 23, of Houma, was pronounced dead on the scene.

A second man who was shot at the scene was later located at a local hospital. His wounds do not appear to be life threatening.

The Houma Police Department is investigating the other shooting that ended in a crash with two men shot. The passenger of the vehicle died.

Both agencies are trying to determine if the shootings are connected.
