NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Strength Coach Fred Zoller of Lean Performance Academy in Slidell demonstrates exercises that are perfect for the core, shoulders and legs.
Knee Grab: This is a signature core exercise at Lean Performance Academy. Instead of doing the traditional sit up, replace it with a knee grab to refrain from grabbing the neck. From floor position, bring hands all the way over and grab just under the knees. In doing this exercise, be sure to keep head in neutral position and back straight. Do this exercise for about 10 to 15 reps.
Shoulder Press with Kettle bell: Place kettle bell in left hand, and kneel on left knee. Rotate hand to the top while keeping the core tight. Perform exercise for about 8 - 10 reps. Repeat on right side. A ten pound kettle bell is used in this segment.
Kettle bell forward lunge: Place kettle bell in the middle and lunge forward and back alternating legs. Try about 8 - 10 reps on each leg. Make sure to keep the body straight up and down and keep core tight.
Rotate the above exercises for 8 - 15 reps depending on exercises for five to six rounds to make a complete workout.
