HARVEY, LA (WVUE) - A body discovered in a Harvey ditch on Wednesday has been identified as a man who went missing from Slidell on Friday, according to investigators.
Houma police arrested two people in connection with the disappearance of Cordaryle Roberts later that night.
Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand, along with Slidell Police Chief Randy Smith, Houma Police Chief Dana Coleman and Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre will hold a news conference at 3 p.m. to discuss details of their investigation. Mobile users can watch here.
JPSO detectives contacted Houma police after obtaining arrest warrants for Terrance Calloway, 28, and Dana Lemar, 23. The are charged with second-degree murder and obstruction of justice.
Houma police SWAT officers arrested the two suspects in the 2600 block of Daniel Turner Trailer Court around 11:30 p.m. They are being held in the Terrebonne Parish Jail.
A passing motorist contacted police around 11:28 a.m. on Wednesday, saying a body was in a ditch in the 4100 block of Peters Rd. Investigators located the partially submerged body, lying face down in the drainage ditch.
The Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office said the body showed signs of some type of trauma. Investigators classified the death as a homicide.
