Police arrest one, seek two in Algiers shooting

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police have arrested one man and are seeking two others responsible for an Algiers shooting that left a 17-year-old man injured. The incident occurred Monday around 1 a.m. in the 5700 block of Tullis Drive.

Elijah Favorite, 31 has been arrested while 27-year-old Christopher Butler and 29-year-old Scott Butler are still being sought.

Police say that officers responded to a call of a shooting. When they arrived, the officers found the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital where was listed in critical but stable condition.

Investigators learned that the victim was inside of an abandoned apartment in the 5700 block of Tullis when three individuals opened fire and struck the victim several times prior to fleeing the scene. Afterward, the victim was able to notify someone nearby who called police. Detectives identified Favorite, Christopher Bulter and Scott Butler as the suspects in the case and obtained attempted murder arrest warrants for all three men. Favorite was arrested Friday night as police executed a search warrant. Police say that he was also wanted by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Department for two counts of armed robbery and a probation violation. He was transported to jail and booked.

Officer were not able to locate Christopher Butler, nor Scott Butler.
