NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Another New Orleans Saints newcomer checks in ranked at number 15.
Defensive tackle Nick Fairley was once considered one of the game's up-and-coming players. In 2012 and 2013 with the Detroit Lions, playing alongside Ndamakoung Suh, Fairley had 11.5 sacks and recovered two fumbles.
But in 2014 with the Lions and 2015 with the Rams, his production dipped to the point where many questioned if his career had peaked and his best days were behind him.
The Saints didn't think so and stepped in this offseason with a 'prove it' contract. The hope is Fairley still has the hunger to succeed and will return to the player he was when he was a first round pick out of Auburn.
