NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police are investigating four separate battery incidents involving knives.
The first incident occurred at 6:21 p.m. near the intersection of Seventh and Daneel streets.
The victim, a 67-year-old man told police the perpetrator approached him and struck him in the face several times.
The victim pulled out a knife and stabbed the perpetrator to defend himself. The perpetrator then followed the victim and stabbed him several times.
Both were transported to University Hospital.
The next incident occurred at just after 7 p.m. near the intersection of Olive Street and South Carrollton Avenue.
The victim, a 44-year-old man, was walking past two men involved in a fight. The suspect, described as a black male, stabbed the victim as he passed.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital.
Another incident occurred just before 8 p.m. in the 1800 block of South Robertson.
The victim, a 19-year-old woman was visiting family when attacked by a female she knows as "Tori Smith."
The victim was stabbed with an unknown object, and the suspect fled.
New Orleans police also reported an incident from early Tuesday morning just before 4:30 a.m. in the 8000 block of Drum Street.
The victim, a 37-year-old man, and his girlfriend, the another man, got into a verbal altercation that turned physical.
The man, Mallory Burton, 30, who was arrested by police, retrieved an unknown object and stabbed the victim.
The victim refused medical attention and police assistance.
