NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Personal trainer Fred Zoller of Lean Performance Academy in Slidell demonstrates a total body workout. This workout includes a dead lift and kettle bell exercise.
Dead lift -
When dead lifting, make sure you're picking the right amount of weight. Start off by lifting between 40 - 50 percent of your body weight. Kristi is dead lifting 45 pounds in the video above. Stand hip width apart before picking up the barbell and position hands on shiny part of equipment. Be sure to use your legs, keep hips low while keeping a flat back and lifting barbell up and down. This exercise should be done for about eight to 10 reps.
The kettlebell movement is a power stand a little bit wider than shoulder - hip width position. Swing kettlebell back and forth by thrusting with your hips. You should always remember to keep core tight and swing kettlebell at about chest level. Do not lift your shoulders. Try this exercise for about eight to 10 reps.
