Thibodaux man arrested on gun, drug charges after motel altercation

THIBODAUX, LA (WVUE) - A Thibodaux man was arrested on drug and weapons charges after an argument in a motel prompted a caller to alert police to the disturbance.

On Saturday around 2:30 a.m., Thibodaux police were called to a motel in the 1200 Block of Canal Boulevard after a caller reported a disturbance with a woman screaming.

Police arrested Michael Jordan Price, 21, of Thibodaux and charged possession with intent to distribute marijuana, illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of a drugs, resisting an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and three failure to appear warrants.

Officers arrived, but could not find a disturbance. But as they were walking around the complex, Price opened the door to his room and officers could smell what they believed to be marijuana coming from inside.

Price told Police that he and his girlfriend had gotten into an argument earlier.

Further investigation revealed that Price had lied about his real name when first asked by police and had three active arrest warrants out from Terrebonne Parish.

Police obtained a search warrant and recovered marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a gun from the room.

Michael Price was taken to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center where he is being held on a $34,550 bond.
