METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) -

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man in connection with the Tuesday robbery of a Metairie business.

Just before 2 a.m., 4th District Patrol Division officers responded to the Discount Zone in the 5900 block of Veterans Boulevard. The store clerk told investigators that a black male entered the business and approached the counter.  As the clerk opened the cash register to complete a transaction, the suspect grabbed the register and a struggle ensued. The suspect overpowered the clerk and was able to grab money and flee.

Two still photographs of the suspect were obtained from video surveillance at the store. He is described as being between the ages of 20 and 30, approximately 5'8" tall with a slim build and a goatee. He was wearing a distinctive pair of tennis shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the JPSO Robbery Division at 364-5300 or Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
