JEFFERSON PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Police found the body of a 2-year-old boy Wednesday under the Huey P. Long Bridge, and his parents were being questioned by investigators with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.
The discovery was reported at about 8 p.m. on the east bank levee near the bridge in the 4900 block of River Road.
A spokesman with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office said the boy's grandmother reported him missing late Tuesday night. He said investigators used "technology" to locate the body, but declined to be specific.
Investigators were searching a nearby wooded area.
The boy's mother and father have not been arrested, and their names have not been released.
