New Orleans police are investigating a carjacking in the Seventh Ward.

The incident occurred at 1:12 a.m. in the 2000 block of Marais Street, according to initial police reports.

The victim, a 27-year-old man, told police he was sitting inside his vehicle with the door open when he was approached by three suspects, described as black males.

One of the suspects put a gun to the victim’s temple and made him get into the passenger seat.

All three suspects got into the car and demanded the victim’s wallet and cell phone.

They drove the man around and dropped him off near the Claiborne Avenue overpass and then drove off in his car.

The vehicle is described as a silver four-door 2000 Lexus ES 300 with a Louisiana license plate #YVR088.
