NOPD searching for three suspects in Marais Street carjacking

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police are asking for the public's help finding three suspects in a Marais Street carjacking.

At approximately 12:42 a.m. Thursday, the victim was sitting in the driver's seat of his vehicle with the driver's side door open in the 2200 block of Marais Street.

The victim, a 27-year-old man, told police he was sitting inside his vehicle with the door open when he was approached by three suspects, described as black males.

One of the suspects put a gun to the victim's temple and made him get into the passenger seat.

All three suspects got into the car and demanded the victim's wallet and cell phone.

They drove the man around and dropped him off near the Claiborne Avenue overpass and then drove off in his car.

The vehicle is a silver 2000 Lexus ES 300 with Louisiana license plate YVR088. It has clear plastic tape over front right headlamp.
