Motorcade route for fallen NOPD officer altered

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

After a decision by the family of NOPD officer Bryan Bordes to have a private burial, the motorcade after the memorial service will be shortened.

The motorcade will take the following route:

  • I-10W to St. Bernard Exit
  • St. Bernard to Claiborne
  • Claiborne to Esplanade
  • Left on Esplanade to Royal
  • Pass the 8th District station on Royal and then break off from there.

Bordes collapsed and died while on duty last Sunday. He was an 18-year veteran of the force.

On Saturday, July 9, 2016, a public viewing and memorial service will be held at Household of Faith, located at 9300 I-10 Service Road, New Orleans, LA. The viewing will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m.

    A Texas man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for stealing $1.2 million worth of fajitas over nine years.
