NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The mother of the sole survivor of a July 4 car crash near Southern University said the family needs help with medical expenses.
Jemelle Delpit said her daughter, Breshae Brazile, remains hospitalized but is now talking and responsive. Brazile sustained a fractured jaw and other injuries.
Delpit said her daughter's two best friends died in the crash on Leon C. Simon.
Brazile had recently graduated from Landry-Walker High School.
Delpit said while the school community has been very supportive, funds are needed for medical bills and costs related to therapy.
