NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans police are investigating two armed robberies that occurred less than an hour apart within a few blocks of each other.

According to initial reports, the first incident occurred at 11:38 p.m. near the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Carnot Street. The victim, a 39-year-old man, was riding his bike when he was approached by a silver sedan occupied by four men.

The driver got out of the vehicle, pointed a black gun at the victim and demanded his property. The victim complied and the subject fled in the vehicle.

The second incident occurred just after midnight in the 4600 block of Painters Street. Again, the victim was approached by a silver sedan occupied by four men. The men got out of the vehicle armed with guns and demanded the victim’s property.

The victim fell to the ground and the driver fired one shot, missing the victim.

All of the subjects then fled the scene.

Police believe the same subjects committed both robberies. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
