An upper level trough skimming the area to our north is providing just enough of a disturbance for showers and thunderstorms to break out across the area. We saw a decent round of heavy rain around mid-day Sunday helping to take temperatures down a notch. Most locations spent the afternoon in the 80's after the rain.
Expect similar coverage on Monday with the weakness still hanging around. Look for the heavy downpours to begin along the coast and move inland through the day. High temperatures will still be in the middle 90's where there are no showers and low 90's before rain develops.
The Atlantic tropics remain quiet with no development expected in the next five days.
