We are definitely in a July summertime pattern. We will continue to see a mix of sun and clouds the rest of the week with daily chances for showers and storms. We had a rather large waterspout over Lake Pontchartrain around noon Tuesday and conditions will continue to be favorable for waterspouts the rest of the week.
By next week, a heat wave will be developing over the midsection of the country. The worst of the heat will remain to our north and west. However, disturbances may move around the high and bring us occasional rounds of afternoon and evening storms.
The Atlantic tropics remain quiet with no development expected in the next five days.
