NOPD looking to arrest suspect in Fig Street shooting

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police have obtained an arrest warrant for a man they believe is responsible for an attempted murder in the 7000 block of Fig Street.

NOPD is looking for Ronald Jackson, 35, in connection with the incident that occurred on July 12.

At about 12:25 a.m., police believe Jackson approached as the victim was lying down, shooting him several times in the back.

Police think Jackson attempted to shoot the victim in the head, but the weapon malfunctioned.

The victim was able to flee the room, while Jackson then fled the location.

Jackson is described as a black male with a heavy build, standing approximately five-feet-10-inches tall. He weighs about 250 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes.

When located, Jackson will be charged with attempted second-degree murder.
