NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police are investigating a brazen attempted armed robbery at the Lakeview Harbor restaurant.
The restaurant and bar was set to close at 11 p.m. The owner says at 10:50 p.m. masked gunmen walked into the kitchen through an open door.
The owner says they were dressed in all black and both wore masks. The owner tells FOX 8 one of the gunmen stayed in the kitchen while the other went into the restaurant and told all of the patrons to get down on the ground.
There were about 20 people inside, seven of them were employees.
The owner says one of the employees took off running out of the door and the gunman shot at him but missed. Seconds later, both gunmen took off running.
The owner said they had a car waiting for them in the back of the restaurant. No one was hurt and nothing was stolen. The owner says it was a wake up call but with the amount of crime in the city he always feared something like this might happen.
