Two arrests made in state trooper's residence burglary

DESTREHAN, LA (WVUE) -

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested two people for the burglary of a State Trooper's residence, which occurred last week in Destrehan.

Dillyn Austin,18 of Destrehan is booked with simple burglary and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Police say they also arrested a 14-year-old male from Destrehan. He is booked simple burglary, possession of a firearm by a Juvenile, and obstruction of justice.

Investigators allege they broke into the trooper’s home on River Point Dr. in Destrehan on July 13.  

They are accused of stealing several items including: multiple firearms, a PlayStation 4, two small safes, a Super Bowl XLVII State Police Badge, a 50-year commemorative State Police Badge, U.S. currency, two iPhones, and collectable coins.

The sheriff's office says property has been recovered, however none of the firearms have been recovered.
