The Clorox Company recalled roughly 5.4 million bottles of Liquid Plumr drain cleaner because the tops can be opened by children, increasing the risk of chemical burns. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the products contain sodium hydroxide and are required by law to have child-resistant packaging.
Three types of Liquid Plumr products are listed in the recall: Pro-Strength Urgent Clear, Industrial Strength Urgent Clear and Pro-Strength Foaming Clog Fighter (formerly sold as Slow Flow Fighter).
The recalled items were sold around the U.S. between January 2012 and May 2016. Click here for a detailed list of the UPC codes.
The Clorox Company said customers who bought the recalled Liquid Plumr bottles should call 855-490-0705 for disposal directions and refund information.
