NOPD names person of interest in missing person investigation

New Orleans police is searching for a person of interest in a missing person investigation.

Woodrow Smith, 34, is a person of interest in the disappearance of McKinley Jones. He is not considered a suspect in the case.

Jones, 37, was last seen on Friday, July 8, around 9:30 p.m. in the 700 block of St. Louis Street.

Jones was driving a black 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe, with a Louisiana temporary license plate tag number 16419157. The vehicle identification number for the Tahoe is 1GNEC13T51R177379.

The vehicle was described as having light tint on the back windows, with “dings” on the hood and passenger side door.
