BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - A large crowd of family, friends, law enforcement is expected at the funeral for slain Baton Rouge police officer Montrell Jackson.
Jackson, 32, a husband and father of an infant son, was one of three police officers killed when Gavin Long ambushed last Sunday.
Just days before his death, Jackson took to Facebook to express his frustration about being a black police officer who was not sure if the city he loved, loved him back.
Jackson was a 10-year veteran of the Baton Rouge police force. Those who knew him say his love for the community extended far beyond his public service duties.
Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards will deliver a eulogy at Jackson's funeral.
Visitation begins at 9 a.m. and the funeral follows at 11 a.m.
