NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - It appears it's not safe to walk a dog in the French Quarter.
According to initial police reports, a man and his dog were held up at knife point Sunday.
The incident occurred just before 11 a.m. in the 1000 block of North Peters Street.
The victim, a 62-year-old man, was approached by two suspects, one described as a white male, the other described as a black male.
They demanded his money and tried to steal his dog. The victim refused and one of the suspects pulled a knife and swiped it at the man.
The victim raised his hand in self-defense and suffered a cut on the left hand.
The suspects fled with the man's money, but the dog remained by his side.
