Marrero bank robbery is latest in a string of holdups

JEFFERSON PARISH, LA (WVUE) - The FBI wants to find a man who robbed a bank in Marrero on Wednesday.

Investigators said the man walked into the Capital One Bank on Barataria Bouelvard. around 10 a.m., went to the counter and demanded money from the teller.

The robber is described as a black male, between 5'8" and 6' tall. Investigators said he appeared to be about 30 years old with a medium build and a beard. He was wearing a long-sleeve, button-down black shirt, a white fishing-style hat and sunglasses.

The robber got away with an undisclosed amount of money and headed south on Barataria Bouelvard.

On Monday the Whitney Bank in Metairie was robbed. On Tuesday the Capital One on Canal Boulevard was robbed. On Friday afternoon (July 22), a robber held up a Whitney Bank branch in Marrero.
